PROCESS & TOOLS
Depending on what shape you would like to create, there is a choice of size and shape of wax ring blank. Then we make some simple sketches to work out your ideas before starting to sculpt the wax. Using scalpels, files, cutting tools, wet and dry paper and other exciting techniques, you begin cutting into the wax to make your shape. Pieces of wax will be available to practice and test out ideas before you start. There is no right and wrong with wax carving, any marks or shapes you make can be cast when the ring gets made into its final silver form.
TIME
The class lasts three hours but the actual wax carving could take between an hour and an hour and a half. It totally depends on the size of the wax ring blank and how much detail you wish to add to the surface.
RING DELIVERY
At the end of the class the wax carvings will be labelled with your name and photographed to ensure you get your very own design back. After the class your design will be sent off to be cast by our expert casting supplier to be transformed into beautiful sterling silver. Within three weeks, your ring will be delivered or available to collect from our studio (you choose the delivery option).
WORKSHOP VOUCHERS
Vouchers are strictly non-refundable or exchangeable. If you can no longer make the workshop please find someone to fill your seat.
CANCELLATIONS
If for some reason you're unable to attend your booked workshop, you'll need to give 48hr notice to be able to qualify for rescheduling. There after you will forfeit the right to reschedule, however you may find someone else to fill your place.
EXTRAS
All extras can be paid for on the day by card or eft. Any these 'extras' can add an additional 1-2 weeks on the turnaround time of your ring.
If you have a stone in mind or if you already have a stone you would like to use, please send us the exact size or an image of the stone so that we can determine whether it will be able to be set. If this is not possible we can source a more suitable stone, but this depends on availability and is not guaranteed. Please note this will also lengthen the delivery date and will have to be confirmed upon acceptance of the quote.
We do not take responsibility for stones being damaged after collection of the ring.
Please note that plating isn't permanent and does wear off depending on the acidity of a person's skin as well as the contact of soap, sunscreen, creams or perfume. Please ensure that you don't wash your hands or shower with the ring on as this can add to the plating fading.
All sterling silver rings will be stamped with a 925 mark. Other metals such as gold will get stamped with their corresponding mark.
Custom rings can be cast in precious metals such as gold, white gold, rose gold. We will weigh your wax ring and quote you on the day according to the gold price. This quote will only be valid for 3 days.
In the case of a ring being resized to anything more than two sizes larger an extra cost will be added according to the increased weight of the ring.
By making payment you accept the terms and conditions outlined above, as one would do by signing a contract.
